I recently had a conversation over a cup of coffee with a real estate investor colleague of
mines about the most affordable houses available in today's market, to no surprise. We
both came to a agreement, that the tiny house market was the most affordable available in today's market. The fact that the market is exploding with villages and tiny homes communities everywhere, is evident that this is the next big thing in the housing market. Just take a look around, by now I'm sure you or someone you know has seen a few popping up while driving around. People everywhere are realizing that $475,00 a month for a $60,000,00 tiny house, is a lot better than $1,400,00 for a $240,000,00 house which most people can't afford nowadays.
I guess the real question is, can you live without all of the things you keep laying around
your house? Big screen T.V.'s all the name brand clothes and shoes that takes up all the
space in your closet, all the furniture and kitchen accessories you've become accustom too? 200sqft to 300sqft is not a lot of space although just enough space for the essentials, a couple and their pet dog. Not really ideal for a family of three or more, unless you're prepared to spring for a bigger tiny house. They are customizable and can
be built to order to accommodate many situations the new owners desire, which of course would include a bigger price tag.
For a single brother like myself, I can definitely get behind the idea of tiny house living as I'm sure many others can too. Even a single mom with one or two kids could make this work, remember these tiny houses are fully customizable. As a real estate investors, it's important that I adapt with the market and explore every option there is. Especially if it means being able to offer my clients the current most affordable option for purchasing a home in today's real estate market. Currently there are fifteen states which offers tint house communities, and the list will continue to grow rapidly over time.
